Get out of the Boat
Matthew 14:22-33

Jesus
tell them to go
(A) Jesus sent the disciples ahead of Him
(B) The disciples were reluctant but obedient
&
Jesus
went to Pray
(A) By Himself, He and God
(ILL. how often do we spend time alone with
God.)
(B) As the disciples went to serve
(ILL. How often
do we pray for the efforts of others.)
(C) As the night turned stormy
(ILL. It’s easy
to remember our needs and pray, but how about your neighbor and what they’re
going through.)
&
Life
becomes stormy
(A) Their trip started calm, things were under control
(B) Because of darkness they could not see what was coming.
(C) Their discouragement, Christ wasn’t their (physically)
&
When
the Lord shows up
(A) Because of goodness (ILL. He cares.)
(B) Witness of Power (ILL. If it’s over your head, it’s
under His feet)
(C) Increase of Faith
&
Get
out of the Boat
(A) When life’s at its worst, Faith is at its best
(B) We should be bolder, willing to weather the storm.
(C) When life’s storms beat us down Christ will pick us up.
&
When
the storm passes by
(A) The Lord should be praised.
(B) Our faith should be increased.
(C) Our prayer life should be stronger.
(D) Our encouragement for each other should be bolder.
(E) Our witness should be louder.
